Lorna Leibowitz has consistently been ranked among the top 10% of all New York City brokers. In her more than 25 years in the business, including her former career as a New York State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser, Lorna prides herself on helping her clients maximize their real estate return. In the high stakes world of Manhattan real estate, Lorna provides the expertise that goes beyond “street easy” to “street smart,” enabling her clients to achieve a successful conclusion to their transaction.

As of January 1, 2022, Lorna has joined Compass as a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker. Previously, she worked at Douglas Elliman for the past 18 years. For the last ten of those years, John Lawrence was her Sales Manager. Recently John made the move to Compass, and now heads The Lawrence Team. Lorna is thrilled to have joined forces with him in order to provide exceptional customer service.

When working with sellers, Lorna sets herself apart from other brokers by strategically position a property for sale. She moves swiftly and with precision to maximize the sales price. Her top-tier contacts include designers, stagers and marketing professionals. Lorna uses her finely honed skills to make sure that her seller’s listings receive the best possible first impression. Lorna takes advantage of all the latest technology, including staging (whether live or virtual), as well as professionally-drawn floorplans and recommended alternative floorplans when needed. When the presentation is perfect, Lorna utilizes all the appropriate selling outlets, including video tours and social media.

When working with buyers, Lorna works tirelessly to find them the perfect property. Sometimes that means exploring different neighborhoods or uncovering a property not currently on the market. When negotiating on a buyer’s behalf, Lorna relies on her tough negotiating skills to help her clients secure the best price and terms, without overpaying. Her contacts in the mortgage field are tops and can provide creative lending solutions.

As residents and owners of a condominium in Manhattan, Lorna and her family enjoy taking advantage of the many cultural and recreational opportunities our city has to offer. In the past several years, Lorna has been spending more time with family and friends in the Hamptons, the North Shore of Boston, and South Florida.
